Privacy Policy

Effective July 18, 2026. This policy explains how the Atrak project team handles information across the HoopClips native apps, browser demo, and cloud services.

Cloud Video Processing

The native HoopClips apps are cloud video clients. When you choose a basketball video, the app uploads that video and related technical metadata so HoopClips can detect clips, create an edit plan, render an MP4, and return preview and download access.

The browser demo keeps a locally selected file in the browser for playback and manual clip work. If you explicitly provide a public video URL and use its optional AI action, the configured backend receives that URL; the current demo does not upload the selected local file through that action.

The native apps do not perform core analysis or final rendering locally. Do not submit a video or URL unless you have permission from the people, team, league, school, venue, and rights holders involved.

Information We Handle

  • Selected videos, file metadata, clip timestamps, team choices, edit instructions, captions, and generated outputs.
  • An app installation identifier, job identifiers, product interactions, render status, and diagnostic information needed to operate and secure the service.
  • Apple or Google sign-in details made available to the app, such as a provider identifier, display name, or email. The Mac app stores its sign-in profile locally.
  • Purchase and entitlement status used to apply Free or Pro limits through Apple and RevenueCat.
  • Optional feedback text and email address when you contact support.

AI Editing

HoopClips may send selected candidate frames and compact edit context to an AI service to rank moments or produce a structured edit plan or revision. It does not send presigned storage credentials or raw render logs to the editing agent.

AI results can be incomplete or incorrect. Review clips and outputs before publishing, recruiting, coaching, or making decisions based on them.

How We Use Information

  • Provide upload, analysis, editing, rendering, preview, download, sharing, subscription, and support features.
  • Enforce plan limits, prevent duplicate or abusive renders, recover failed jobs, and secure the service.
  • Measure reliability and diagnose failures using identifiers and operational metadata.
  • Respond to support and privacy requests.

We do not sell personal information or use uploaded videos for cross-app advertising tracking.

Service Providers

HoopClips uses service providers to deliver its features. Depending on configuration, these include Cloudflare for edge services and object storage, Google Cloud for processing, OpenAI for selected AI editing tasks, RevenueCat and Apple for purchases, Apple and Google for sign-in, Sentry for privacy-filtered diagnostics, and Formspree for feedback delivery.

Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices. HoopClips limits each integration to the information needed for its role.

Storage And Retention

Upload links expire quickly, but that expiration does not by itself delete an uploaded source object. Source videos and analysis artifacts are retained as operationally needed for processing, recovery, support, and service integrity. HoopClips does not currently promise a fixed automatic deletion deadline for every source upload.

Rendered outputs receive retention metadata. The current service assigns successful Free renders a 14-day schedule and successful Pro renders a 60-day schedule. Failed Free and Pro render artifacts receive 7-day and 14-day schedules. Eligible artifacts may remain after the scheduled date until a controlled cleanup run completes.

Downloaded copies and shared files are controlled by you and the destination you choose.

Your Choices And Deletion Requests

  • You can delete local projects and downloaded exports from Settings. This does not immediately delete cloud artifacts.
  • Canceling an upload before analysis completes removes the associated pending cloud job and objects when the request succeeds.
  • Signing out removes the local HoopClips session, but does not revoke Apple or Google authorization or remove records held by those providers.

To request access, correction, or deletion of identifiable cloud artifacts or a support message, email hello@atrak.dev. Include only the job or render identifier needed to locate the record. Do not email a video, password, API key, or signed download URL.

Security, Children, And Changes

HoopClips uses access controls, short-lived download links, private service credentials, and logging safeguards, but no storage or transmission system is guaranteed to be perfectly secure.

HoopClips is not directed to children under 13. A minor should use the service only with a parent, guardian, school, team, or other authorized adult and only when the uploader has all required permissions.

We may update this policy as the service, providers, or retention controls change. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are published.
